Sessions now own their own settings, so a single program can host genuinely different sessions. For example, a Summer Camp program can run basketball in one session and softball in another.
What changed
Before: the program acted as a locked template. Every session had to match the program's sport, level of play, age range, gender, and membership rules, and editing a program after sessions existed could block your save.
Now: each session owns these settings, and editing the program no longer blocks a session save.
What you can set on each session
Sport – the activity picker is on the session.
Level of play – choose any combination of levels per session, independent of the program.
Age range
Gender
Required memberships
Set these when you create or edit a session.
How the program stays in sync
When a session differs from its program, the program expands to include those values. This keeps your discovery pages in sync with what you're actually offering.
Leagues and tournaments
To protect your standings rules, the sport can't be changed on a league or tournament session once games have been scored.
