What is a Portal?
A portal is your shareable public booking URL — the link you put on your website, in an email, or on a QR code. Each portal lets you choose which categories, facilities, and activities appear, and handles the full booking flow in one place.
One org can run one main "Reservations" portal or design separate, dedicated portals for each sport, facility, or booking type. Build and preview in draft mode — publish only when you're ready.
Rules live in categories; bookable items live in rental products.
Why use a portal?
Portals give you a shareable public link so customers can book spaces, parties, lessons, and more — 24/7. One organization can run a main "book everything" link and/or focused links for specific facilities or sports. Each portal defines which categories, facilities, and activities appear.
When to create a new portal
You want a dedicated public URL for a particular facility, sport, or booking type — e.g. "Lessons" vs "Birthday Parties" vs "Rentals", or "Hockey" vs "Ice-skating"
You want the link to open with different defaults (category, facility, activity, or grid/list view)
A partner or microsite needs its own entry point
When to reuse an existing portal
You add a product to a category already on the portal — it appears automatically once the product is set to online
You want customers to book across multiple categories and sports in a single checkout
How to Create a Portal
Rentals → Portals → Portal settings
Portal Filters
Product categories & default — Which categories appear on the portal (and which is the default)
Facilities — Which locations customers can filter to, and which is the default
Activities — Sport/program filters (e.g. Golf, Hockey) and which is pre-selected on load
💡 Set defaults to your most common booking types so customers land in the right place.
Display settings
Choose how available resources and slots render. There are two views — enable one or both (customers can toggle if both are on) and set the default.
Timeline (Grid) view
Resources are listed in the first column; time runs horizontally. Best when you have many bookable resources and customers are focused on finding availability at a specific time.
List view
Available slots are shown as bubbles under each resource. Best when a customer has a preferred resource and wants to check its availability.
Preferred start time
Preferred start time — When enabled, customers can filter availability by a preferred start time. For example, the optimal slot might be 5–6:30 pm, but a customer wants to start at 5:30. Enable this setting to let them choose.
Start time intervals — Which minute marks are offered (:00, :15, :30, :45). Works with category slot rules and product schedules.
Setup steps
Finish spaces, instructors, categories, and rental products first.
Go to Rentals → Portals and create or open a portal.
Select product categories, facilities, and activities; set defaults for each.
Configure display options and default view.
Enable preferred start time if you want customers to be able to filter by start time.
Publish the portal, then open the consumer link and verify filters, defaults, and product cards.
Before you share the link
Defaults match how you want customers to land (category, facility, activity, display)
Products in the selected categories are set to online booking and visible on preview
Test as a guest, a member (if you have membership discounts or VIP access), and a family account
