The Payment Summary by Invoice report shows a detailed breakdown of the payments applied to each invoice, down to the line item. It is located in the Financials workbook.
When to use it
Use this report when you need to trace exactly how a payment was applied. Each row ties a payment to its invoice and the line items it covered, which makes it the right place to answer questions like "which invoice did this payment go to?" or "how was this invoice paid off?"
How to Filter
Set the date range for the period you want, and narrow by customer or invoice to follow one payment trail. For an invoice-level rollup without payment application detail, use the Invoices Summary report; for a payment-first audit trail, use Payment Details.
